By welcoming Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale group subsidiary Crédit Mutuel Equity as a shareholder in 2016, Warning - one of France's leading names in last-mile logistics - set itself a development strategy centred primarily around acquisitions. With the acquisition of NRJ, Warning is continuing on this track, doubling in size and adding another business line to its activities. The group, founded in Lyon in 1993 by Eric Bonnac, will report 2017 sales of €60 million post-acquisition.

A pure-play transportation operator with a strong focus on service, the Lyon-based company's activities are divided between dedicated distribution of parts for the automotive sector and home delivery, primarily for major supermarkets and hypermarkets. Warning has acquired NRJ, a family-owned company founded in 1975 in Aubervilliers. The NRJ group specialises in logistics for the high-tech sectors, supplying retail outlets and construction sites in the Paris region, and on demand express transportation. These new skills will enable Warning to roll out its expertise on an even wider scale to include high value-added ground transportation sectors, while also offering a comprehensive range of services.

"Thanks to this acquisition, we are now an industrial-scale logistics group with 30,000 m2 of warehouses, which opens up new opportunities in order preparation and programming," explains CEO Eric Bonnac. The company now has a fleet of over 850 vehicles carrying out an average of 20,000 deliveries per day, and has around 1,100 employees.

"Our shareholder Crédit Mutuel Equity (formerly CM-CIC Investissement) supports and assists us in our expansion strategy, with the aim of diversifying our operations and extending our scope of intervention. This deal marks a major step forward in boosting our rate of growth, with a number of potential targets in France and Europe currently being considered with the help of our advisors Croissance Partenaires," he adds.
