Stimio, a specialist in B2B IoT, is carrying out its first €1.3m round of fundraising with Crédit Mutuel Innovation.

Stimio, the specialist in IoT Industrial connected objects

Stimio specialises in the design, production and sale of IoT connected objects for the B2B market. With over 25 employees, the company founded in 2014 operates in the railway, logistics and manufacturing markets. Its clients include SNCF, La Poste and Thalès.

Stimio’s IoT solutions allow its clients to achieve significant gains in operating efficiency. In the railway industry, for example, train maintenance is optimised thanks to onboard sensors on rolling stock, so that maintenance centre operators know early on which equipment requires particular attention. Another example for the construction and civil engineering and equipment rental sector, such as excavators. Stimio is able to provide an entire system of connected objects to allow for real-time monitoring of the location and use of equipment. This allows for new business models with billing according to use.

The company has designed Stim-Mod, a platform combining onboard hardware and software. This approach and Stimio’s tools allow for projects to be initiated and the development of bespoke solutions, while also keeping very short development cycles. Stim-Mod has therefore shortened the time it takes to for on-the-ground implementation of prototypes, proof of concept and industrial rollouts, without end clients needing specific IoT skills.

In addition to and as a derivative of Stim-Mod, Stimio offers Stim-Train and Stim-Track, complete industrial solutions intended for the railway and asset tracking markets respectively, whether in the form of equipment (carriages, excavators, swap bodies etc.) or high value-added packaging.

€1.3m round of fundraising

This fundraising is an essential step and will enable the company to step up its international expansion, beginning in Europe, continue with the development of its technology platform and improve its upscaling process.

The B2B market is clearly the future of IoT and this means developing solutions and products that meet industrial needs and featuring advanced technologies as part of a modular and evolving approach,” comments David Dorval, Chairman of Stimio. “We are very pleased to have won the trust of Crédit Mutuel Innovation (formerly CM-CIC Innovation). This funding will help to support the development of these technologies and allow Stimio to target new markets for which the reality and potential go hand in hand.

“From our initial discussions, Stimio convinced us with its product positioning and in-depth technological expertise. This strategy of being both a worldwide operator, agile enough to adapt to each client usage case, and also an industry specialist with technology-rich solutions, makes Stimio one of the few companies to have thought about Industrial IoT in its entirety. The forthcoming upscaling phase will attest to the project’s success,” adds Maxence Valero, Associate at Crédit Mutuel Innovation.

You can meet the Stimio team in 2019 at the Raillive exhibition in Bilbao on 6 and 7 March 2019, at Sido on 10 April 2019 in Lyon and at the IoT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona from 29 to 31 October 2019.
