Crédit Mutuel Equity, a subsidiary of the Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale Group, has invested in a minority stake in Montaner Pietrini Boissons. The transaction provides the group with more resources in order to pursue its active acquisitions strategy.

Crédit Mutuel Equity (formerly CM-CIC Investissement) and the pool of bankers have provided €57 million of financing in the form of a capital increase and bank debt. The pool of bankers is led by the Caisse d'Epargne - Banque Populaire group, and also includes CIC and BNP Paribas.

Since its inception in 2008, Montaner Pietrini Boissons has grown rapidly, both organically and through 17 acquisitions. In the space of 10 years, it has become France's leading independent distributor of beverages in the bar, hotel and restaurant segment, and expects to achieve revenues of more than €170 million in 2018.

"This transaction is an important milestone in the group's history. We were able to attract a renowned investor with our growth model, which is based on a fine balance between organic growth and acquisitions and implemented by the talented men and women who join our group every day. We are delighted that our new partner, Crédit Mutuel Equity, appreciates our distinctive approach and incurs favorable prospects for our development in this new path of growth," said Jean-Pascal Montaner and Éric Pietrini, the group's founders and co-chairmen.

"Montaner Pietrini Boissons' track record is exemplary. The group was set up from scratch in 2008 as a consolidation vehicle, and is a perfect illustration of our strategy to create larger additional value, which we follow in carefully selected business sectors, particularly the B2B services and distribution sector. We stand ready to use all of our experience, expertise and connections to support Montaner Pietrini Boissons and its managers with their development plan," added Nam Metzger, Principal at Crédit Mutuel Equity.
