Crédit Mutuel Equity and Idena's adventure is continuing. This new transaction follows on from the buyout deal in 2010, when the management team led by Renaud Domitile acquired the shares of Idena's founder.

Idena, a fast-growing animal nutrition specialist based in Sautron in France, has seized the opportunity to welcome further equity investment in order to bolster the group's independence.

As part of the transaction, five executives are buying into the holding company and Idena's top management are also reinvesting. Crédit Mutuel Equity (formerly CM-CIC Investissement) is confirming its support for the group by reinvesting €1.9 million alongside them through a capital increase. The executives' holding company is now owned by 15 managers and has increased its majority stake in Idena.

Idena employs 50 people and generated consolidated revenue of €23 million in 2016, including 45% from export markets. Idena has three divisions focusing on R&D/engineering, production and distribution, operates in 35 countries and has two subsidiaries in Spain and Australia.

Renaud Domitile is targeting development in two main areas: innovation through major R&D efforts, and international expansion, particularly in Asia.

"We want to be present in around 100 countries and maintain double-digit growth in the next five years," explains Renaud Domitile. Welcoming the support of its long-standing shareholder, he added, "Crédit Mutuel Equity's involvement gives us great freedom, and they are strongly committed to developing a long-term partnership with us."

Stéphane Mentzer, Principal at Crédit Mutuel Equity, emphasised the quality of Idena's management team: "Since 2010, management has had a great deal of success strengthening Idena's positions in the main animal nutrition markets. We want to continue supporting this medium-sized business. It has genuine expertise, which is allowing it to maintain its margins in demanding markets and to generate good momentum in export sales."
